1997  Weapons of Mass Distraction as Verity Graham

In this HBO tv movie/satire, Alex Kingston is Verity Graham who works for media mogul Julian Messenger (Ben Kingsley.) The film focuses on the power struggle for ownership of a football team.  Verity Graham begins to have doubts about the intentions of Julian.

1996  The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders as Moll Flanders

This four part ITV mini-series catapulted Alex Kingston to international fame in her masterful portrayal of the title character Moll Flanders.  The series is based on the book by Daniel Defoe about the life of Moll Flanders.  Moll is born in a jail, raised by a mayor, and goes through a number of husbands (they have various fates) along the way.  She is an intelligent woman and adventurous.  The series also has Daniel Craig as Moll's fourth husband and Diana Rigg as Moll's mother-in-law (and mother.)

1996  The Knock as Katherine Roberts

In this 1996 ITV series The Knock, Alex Kingston appears as Katherine Roberts in 13 episodes of the second season.  The Knock is about the activities and lives of customs agents from HM Customs and Excise. Katherine Roberts is a Detective with City and South.

1995  The Infiltrator as Anna

In this HBO tv movie, a Jewish freelance reporter, Yaron Svoray (Oliver Platt), goes undercover in Germany to investigate a neo-Nazi group.  Alex Kingston plays Anna who helps Yaron in his dangerous work to expose the group.

1988-1995  The Bill as Dr. Howard/Lisa Holm/Lisa Royle/Maggie Fisher

Alex Kingston appears in four episodes (Conflict, Skeletons, To Have and to Hold, In On the Game ) as multiple characters in this long running ITV police series.  The episode To Have and to Hold garnered much media attention for the subject matter of sexual assault by a spouse.  Alex Kingston played Maggie Fisher, who appears at the police station saying that her husband raped her.

1994  Woman of the Wolf as the Woman

In this atmospheric short, Alex Kingston is the woman on a fantasy cargo ship in one part of a story.  The other part of the story is told by a male narrator at a dinner party. The story was written in 1904 by poet and feminist Rene Vivien. The short aired on PBS and Channel Four. It also received an honourable mention at the American Film and Video Film Festival.

1994  Crocodile Shoes as Caroline Carrison

Alex Kingston appears as Caroline Carrison in five episodes of the first series of this BBC drama about the music industry.  Jed Shepherd (Jimmy Nail) is a factory worker who becomes a country singer with the help of his streetwise manager Ade.  Ade has a volatile relationship with Caroline Carrison.

1993  Soldier Soldier as Ursula Krohling

In this ITV series based on the lives of a fictional British army regiment, Alex Kingston appears in one episode (Camouflage) as Ursula Krohling.  In this episode, Lt. Colonel Nick Hammond falls for Ursula, the daughter of a local dignitary.

1993 Foreign Affairs as an Actress

In this TNT tv movie, Vinnie (Joanne Woodward) meets Chuck (Brian Dennehy) on a plane to London.  The pair become a couple, despite their differences. Alex Kingston appears in a role as an actress.

1992  Covington Cross as Helen

Alex Kingston appears as Helen in the episode Cedric Hits the Road in this ABC tv series. Helen, a roadside inn barmaid, cons Cedric into spending the night so others can rob him.

1989  Wanted:  Marjory and Oliver as Herself

A tele-film about Georgia (the country) with Alex Kingston appearing in it as the narrator.  This emotional docu-drama captures the kindness, hopes and aspirations of Georgia's people.  The tele-film has Alex Kingston travelling to Georgia to find out more about Marjory Wardrop, who translated literary works from Georgian into English. and her diplomat brother, Oliver.  Marjory and Oliver were from Britain and praised by the Georgian people.  In her journey, Alex learns more about the Georgian people.  Directed by Giorgi Levashov-Tumanishvili (Georgian State Television, aired on Channel 4).  Alex Kingston asked us to add this title to our list. It is a truly captivating look at the people of this historical place - a must-see film that can be found online.

1989  The Play On One:  These Foolish Things as Daniella

This is a BBC One play written by Elizabeth Spender.  Gutrune Day (Lindsay Duncan) is in an affair with newspaper editor, Nick Verney (James Fox), but he is still in love with his estranged wife.  Alex Kingston appears as Daniella.

1989  Hannay as Kirsten Larssen

Alex Kingston appears as Kirsten Larssen in the episode The Terrors of the Earth in season two of this Thames tv series.  Hannay (Robert Powell) has a background of military intelligence in pre-World War One Britain.  In this episode, the British Government works on antidotes against potential germ warfare and Hannay works to prevent a plot to steal the antidotes.

1987  A Killing on the Exchange as Ellen

Alex Kingston appears as Ellen in two episodes of this Anglia tv police thriller mini-series.  Police Superintendent Thorne investigates a death at a London merchant bank and enters a world of corporate intrigue.

1986  Henry's Leg as Noreen

This children's ITV series has Henry trying to hang on to a mannequin leg he has brought home.  It seems to be a popular leg sought after by others. Alex Kingston plays Noreen in three episodes.  Henry visits with Noreen for guidance.

1980  Grange Hill as Jill Harcourt

Alex Kingston makes her first tv series appearance as teenager, Jill Harcourt, in three episodes of the popular BBC tv series Grange Hill.  Jill is a Judo trained bully who picks on Susi to do Jill's homework.  Eventually, Susi has enough.
